FdA Airline and Airport Management

This course is designed to meet the needs of industry by producing graduates equipped with the operational and management skills needed to succeed in the airline and airport industry. You will be taught by staff who have extensive experience of airport operations, cabin crew operations and aviation organisation management.

The first year of study concentrates primarily on developing the fundamental skills and knowledge required in airline and airport organisations.

The second year builds on this underpinning knowledge to examine relevant theory and applies this in a management perspective.

BA (Hons) Airline and Airport Management

This course is aimed at those who have successfully completed a Foundation Degree (or equivalent) and managers or aspiring managers within the airline and airport industry. The course is designed to develop your management and leadership skills to enable you to become a more efficient and effective manager within the aviation industry. You will be taught by staff who have extensive experience of airport operations, cabin crew operations, cabin crew training, aviation organisation management and academic research. You will be encouraged to apply for professional accreditation by staff who are active in both local and national networks.

This course is delivered at Newcastle Aviation Academy based at Newcastle International Airport. The course is designed to meet the needs of industry by producing aircraft maintenance engineering graduates equipped with the necessary technical knowledge, skills and personal and professional qualities to be successful in the exciting and rewarding world of aircraft engineering.

FdA Tourism and Hospitality Management

This course focuses on the operation and management skills required for the global hospitality and tourism industry. You will benefit from industry insight via our guest lecture series, as well as real-life work examples from our industry experienced tutors to help you understand the complex, ever-changing and exciting world of hospitality and tourism. You will develop the practical skills required to work in the industry as well as the skills to market and manage a range of hospitality and tourism organisations effectively.

BA (Hons) Tourism and Hospitality Management*

This course has been designed to enable you to build on the skills and knowledge you have acquired at Foundation Degree level to develop your managerial skills that can be applied to all hospitality and tourism management related job roles. You will learn how to manage the business from a strategic and operational point of view as well as the variety of people management skills that can be applied to different types of teams and organisations. You will also have the opportunity to gain a leadership and management qualification approved by Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
