FdA Interior and Spatial Design

This course offers you the opportunity to gain industry-aligned design skills and knowledge that respond to the changing shape of design.

You will undertake client briefs, explore commercial and domestic interiors as well as architectural elements, investigate spatial planning and understand the function of
objects within space. You will develop skills in a number of different areas that include designing floor plans and interior schemes, fabricating bespoke furniture, producing photo-real visualisations, preparing walk-through animations or producing computer generated scale models. You will focus on the relationship of people to spaces through volume, planning, atmosphere, scale, colour, light, texture, acoustics and material.

BA (Hons) Creative Enterprise (Top-Up)

The philosophy of this degree is to replicate the first year of industry practice rather than the last year of education.

You will research and design your own project brief and see it through to completion. Whatever you propose should be closely tied to your career aspirations and the needs of industry. So if you want to establish yourself as a professional practitioner your project will be carefully researched to make sure it takes you a step closer to realising your ambitions. It should build on your strengths and further develop the skills and interests you had at Foundation Degree level.

BA (Hons) Fine Art Practice

This course will allow you to explore a broad range of techniques and processes that will enable you to develop your practice.

You will have the opportunity to engage in studio practice modules that cover both traditional and contemporary practices such as drawing, painting, sculpture, installation and digital practice, alongside developing your theoretical and contextual awareness.

The practice-based modules are accompanied by live briefs, site specific working and exhibition opportunities which give you valuable experiences as a professional practitioner. You will have access to a wide range of fully equipped specialist practical workshops which include wood, metal, ceramic, traditional and digital print, 3D digital design, lens based, domestic and industrial sewing. Alongside these you will have access to our dedicated drawing studio and large scale working spaces and your own studio space. The studio is central to our delivery and through workshops, seminars, lectures and crits you will develop an individual practice that is exciting, engaging, intellectual and personal to you.
