Why did you choose to study a degree at the College?
I chose to study at the College because of the course, it’s the only one of its kind to be delivered in the North East.

What did you enjoy most about your Foundation Degree course?
I really liked the learning environment as you were taught in a classroom setting. It was really relaxed and informal which made it easier to speak up and ask for help if you needed it.

Were you given the opportunity to go on a work placement as part of your degree?
I undertook a voluntary placement at Newcastle International Airport working as an Airport Ambassador which was great. I got to meet a variety of people and it really increased my confidence in dealing with passenger enquiries.

How would you describe the staff at the College?
The staff were lovely, they were so supportive and you could ask them anything and they would do their very best to help you. You don’t feel intimidated which I feel is really important, I can’t thank them enough.

What’s Newcastle like as a student city?
Although I lived at home whilst studying I haven’t missed out on the student scene. Newcastle is a great city to study in, really student focused and everyone is really friendly.

Any words of advice for any student considering studying a degree at Newcastle College?
Go for it! Be prepared to work hard and you’ll see the benefits. Be confident in your ability and you’ll go far.
