Overview

This Level 1 Diploma is designed to prepare 19+ students for entry into the construction industry in their chosen craft.

The course has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions.

Who the course is for

This is a part time course developed for 19+ students who want to build a career within the crafts of the construction industry.
 

Qualification Gained

On successful completion of this course you will gain a City and Guilds Level 1 Diploma.

Woodworking tools, traditional woodworking joints and projects in the workshop. Power tool training and health & safety.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is based on the learner showing what they can do as an individual through the completion of all the requirements of the qualification.

Knowledge course work and testing with specialist practical Synoptic Assignments.
 

Progression Opportunities

Progession to the Diploma Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery

Entry Requirements

Desirable to hold GCSE 3/D or above in English and maths.

Minimum entry 2 in maths and English.

If English is not your first language, you will need an English language test score of 5.0 or above.
