Teaching
You will be based at our Newcastle School of Education (NSE) which has an excellent reputation for teacher training and professional development. It is one of only ten Centres for Excellence in Teacher Training in the UK. So you know you will be in safe hands.
You will be taught by experienced tutors who have many years' experience working in the education sector as teachers and education professionals.
A range of teaching specialisms are available, such as Numeracy and Maths and Special Educational Needs, as well as CELTA and DELTA qualifications so you can teach English as a Foreign Language.

Bursaries Available
When you train to teach Further Education at Newcastle College, you may be eligible to receive an FE ITE bursary to help you in your studies. Bursaries available for the 2022 to 2023 academic year are:
- £26,000 for graduates who can teach STEM subjects
- £15,000 for graduates who want to train to work with learners with learning difficulties and disabilities (SEND)
- £12,000 for graduates who have skills to teach English
