Career Opportunities

On successful completion of this course you would be eligible to progress onto the Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Information Technology or Games Design. Alternatively you may progress onto an apprenticeship programme or into employment.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have 4 x GCSEs (A*-D or 3-9) OR or an IT relevant level 1 qualification – both options to include at least GCSE grade 3 in English and maths. Internal applicants from L1 or Access to FE programmes must pass their L1 IT or Access course and already have GCSE grades 3 in English and maths or a pass in Functional Skills L1 in both subjects

Course Costs

16 to 18s

Learners are eligible for free tuition if they are aged 16-18 when beginning their studies.

If the course being applied for is a two-year qualification, you will continue to be eligible for free tuition for the remainder of the course.

If the course being applied for is two separate one-year qualifications and you begin studying year one of the course aged 18, you will be required to pay fees for the second year.

If you are aged 18 when beginning the course, it is advised that you talk to our Student Services Team on 0191 200 4000 or by email who will be able to explain the options available.

Please note, if you are applying from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland you may be subject to different funding rules than students who live in England.
