Our award-winning support team will help you reach your potential. Whether you need assistive technology, support with your well-being or would benefit from a little extra assistance in the classroom - we're here to help!
We offer a dedicated access hub and physiotherapy room.
Across the College there are seven hoist facilities and we will help develop your personal care and access plan.
We can work with you to adapt course materials as well as provide specialist equipment to help you in lessons. This could be anything from audio calculators to dictaphones to magnification devices and more.
We are specialists in producing materials in your preferred format, including braille, large print, audio, subtitles, tactile diagrams and DAISY books.

Higher Education Support
If you are studying a higher education course at Newcastle College, we can provide support with:
study skills support on a one-to-one or small group basis
advice on accessing Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSAs)
alternative assessment plans
exam access arrangements
screening and diagnostic dyslexia higher education support
Learning and Physical Disabilities
We provide support with moving, handling and personal care for students with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and medical conditions.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
We support students in their social, emotional and behavioural wellbeing. This is done through intervention and close relationships with external specialist teams.
We provide support to Deaf, hard of hearing, blind and partially sighted students.
We ensure you can fully access the College with specialist support from communication support workers, sighted guiding and with the adaptation of course materials into your preferred format. Formats include large print, audio and braille.
