The aesthetics and make-up industry makes millions each year and is growing rapidly to meet the demands of evolving trends and emerging techniques. As an Aesthetics and Make-Up student you will know how important it is to have the right skills for industry and our degrees at Newcastle College University Centre are designed to help you stand out from the crowd.

Our Advanced Skin Techniques (Top-Up) degree is the only one of its kind in the North East, meaning you will be joining a unique and highly-skilled group of undergraduates ready to take the aesthetics and make-up industry to the next level.

Our FdA Advanced Techniques in Media and Semi-Permanent Make-Up degree combines specialised practical skills with subject-specific theory to a professional standard in an academic setting and has been designed to provide you with higher level skills that are needed within the advanced make-up industry.

"I was like 'I'm fifty can I really do a foundation degree?' And here I am two years later, smashing it and next year I'm doing a bachelors degree. Honestly, it's not just a degree I'm getting. It's the people I've met, it's the guest speakers and it's the workshops. It's been loads of fun. We all love it and the tutors are fab and really supportive."

Daily tasks:

Ensures custody of all cash receipts and organises regular stock checks.
Recruits, supervises and trains staff.
Determines financial, staffing, material and other short- and long-term needs.
Advises on the facilities available and promotes publicity in relation to shows, games, races, new theme parks, etc..
Keeps abreast of new trends and developments in recreational activities and arranges exhibitions, theatrical productions, concerts, demonstrations etc..
Ensures that facilities are kept clean and in good condition and that appropriate health and safety requirements are adhered to.
Organises timetable of activities/schedule of programmes.
