The PRINCE2® course will provide learners with a complete understanding of the PRINCE2® project management methodology, all courses include the course materials, on-line exam and personal e-mail support as required throughout your course.

Who the course is for

PRINCE2® is for project managers and aspiring project managers. It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects.

PRINCE2® is also beneficial for experienced Project Managers or individuals looking to develop their project management skills, it can be an invaluable asset for individuals looking to improve their employment prospects within a role that has project management responsibilities.


PRINCE2® Practitioner - you will need to have passed the Foundation examination prior to starting the Practitioner course. If you’ve previously passed your Foundation exam with another provider, you’ll need to provide evidence of successful completion before you can enrol onto the Practitioner course.

Course Content

We currently offer PRINCE2® using distance and e-learning as the mode of delivery.

You will be assigned your own personal log in details for NCG On-Line, our virtual learning environment (VLE). You’ll then work through the on-line PRINCE2® course material.

All learners will be provided with the comprehensive PRINCE2® manual and dedicated e-mail address for support. If you need additional support, NCG Direct will provide you with a dedicated helpdesk e-mail, whereby you’ll receive a response to support you in achieving your PRINCE2® qualification.

Practitioner Duration

The course material runs for approximately 15 hours, you’ll need to allow additional time for course exercises and additional reading.

NCG would advise you complete the course and take the on-line exam within one month of starting the course.

We do however offer you the material for 12 months; you are welcome to take your exam anytime with this 12 month period. (subject to availability).

Please note. If you have not taken the exam within these 12 months you will need to re-enroll onto the course at full cost.

Learners who successfully complete the combined PRINCE2®  certification can recognise this learning against the NCG Direct Foundation Degrees in Professional Leadership and Management or Professional Business Management, reducing both time and cost of these two FdA programmes.

Assessment Methods

Practitioner

An 80 question Objective Test Examination with a pass mark of 44 out of 80 (55%).

The exam duration is 2.5 hours. Success in this examination indicates that the candidate could apply PRINCE2® to the running and managing of a non-complex project within an environment supporting PRINCE2®

You can choose to sit your exam in person at Newcastle College (usually the last Friday in each month) or

Remotely using our examination partner Proctor U.
