If you're looking for an opportunity to explore your choices in a supportive environment, this Vocational Options course is tailor-made for individuals living with a disability and/or learning disability looking to progress and prepare for employment.
Ideal for those who require additional support, you will have the chance to develop your knowledge and skills in vocational areas such as hospitality, gardening, retail, care, automotive and construction.
The course combines theory and practical work, a placement in one of our real working environments and enrichment activities designed to develop your personal and social skills.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
What will I achieve?
On successful completion of this course, you will achieve an E3 Award in Introduction to Retail Skills.
What will I learn?
- Discovering the retail workplace
- Introduction to looking after customers in the retail environment
- Introduction to handling stock in the retail environment
- Introduction keeping work clean tidy and safe in the retail environment

How am I assessed?
Work experience opportunities
Students will have the opportunity to gain work experience in one of our retail outlets on campus. This could be in our college shop or on-site cafe, where students develop their customer service skills and knowledge of the retail industry.
English and Maths
English and maths are embedded into this course through tasks such as measuring, stock taking and cash handling.
