This full-time Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) for Teaching English in Further Education programme is perfect if you hold a degree in English or a related subject and are looking to become qualified to teach people who speak English as a second language, as well as those whose first language is English and are looking to improve their literacy skills. You will undertake two placements as part of the course to gain specialist knowledge in both areas.
You should have a keen interest in language and how it works, enjoy working with people of other backgrounds and cultures to develop their language skills and have a good level of spoken and written English.
This course is aimed at those who are looking to study on a full-time basis.
Once you complete this course you will be eligible to apply for QTLS, which is as highly regarded as a QTS by employers.

- Provides communication support for the hard of hearing or the visually impaired.
- Converts documents or spoken statements from original or source language into another language.
- Writes instruction manuals and user guides, technical reports, catalogues and indexes, prepares sales literature and writes technical articles for trade journals.
- Negotiates contracts with freelance agents and with buyer on behalf of writer.
- Selects material for publication, checks style, grammar and accuracy of content, arranges for any necessary revisions and checks proof copies before printing.
