Are you passionate about creating worlds, telling stories and bringing ideas to life through art, design and animation? Whether you aspire to be an animator, illustrator, concept artist or creative storyteller, our Level 3 Animation, Illustration & Concept Art (AICA) course will help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to build a professional creative portfolio.
This exciting studio-based course combines traditional and digital creative practice, giving you the opportunity to explore illustration, narrative storytelling, concept art, and both 2D and 3D animation. You'll experiment with a wide range of materials, processes and techniques while developing your own creative practice.
Taught by animators, illustrators and concept artists, you'll learn from industry-experienced staff and have access to dedicated studio spaces, Mac and Windows digital suites, Wacom drawing tablets and professional creative software.
In your first year, you'll explore the creative industries through projects focused on visual communication, storytelling, animation and design. Alongside developing practical skills, you'll contextualise your work through research and an understanding of contemporary creative practice.
In your second year, you'll take on more ambitious projects, including live and industry-led briefs, while specialising in your chosen area of animation, illustration or concept art. You'll refine your portfolio and prepare for progression into higher education or the creative industries.
