Games Development - Level 2

• 4 GCSEs grades 3-9 including English and maths.

On successful completion of this course you will achieve an OCR Level 2 Diploma in IT.

We will support you and help you find and participate in work experience with local IT and creative companies. 

You will have access to a Preparation for Work Coach in your first term, who can support you with writing a CV and a cover letter for you to then approach local companies / organisations and secure your own placement.

English and maths skills are developed on this course through group work, presentations, writing, problem solving and logical thinking.

Each lesson is developed to target developing maths and English skills.

Examples could be a Photoshop lesson where you are developing knowledge and skills on scale and proportion, or a games design lesson where you are presenting your game idea to the class for feedback.

We embed maths and English skills development throughout our curriculum.

Additionally, if you have not yet achieved a grade 4 GCSE in English and/or maths you will be supported to achieve these as part of this course.

On completion of this course you can progress onto a suitable Level 3 Games Development or Level 3 Esports course.
