Digital Arts - Level 1

• 3 GCSEs at grade 2 or above including English and maths

If you achieve:

• GCSE grade 3 in English or maths

AND

• GCSE grade 1 in English or maths

AND

• Two other GCSEs at grade 2 or above

You can still study this course, but you will need to complete Entry Level 3 and Level 1 Functional Skills alongside it.

Upon successful completion of this course you will achieve a Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Digital Arts.

• Creating an animation
• Film posters
• Illustration techniques
• Graphic techniques
• Portfolio preparation.

• Studio-based creative workshops
• Group work
• Lectures.

• Coursework (based on your sketchbook).

You will work on adapted project briefs from industry to give you experience in working towards projects found within digital design and media.

Your English skills will be developed when researching and analysing film theory and developing storyboards. Maths is used when calculating page sizes, working on moving film duration and setting work for print.

If you do not hold English and/or maths GCSEs at grade 4 or above, you will be supported through dedicated lessons to help you achieve English and maths qualifications.

Upon successful completion of this course, you could progress onto our Level 2 Digital Arts course.
