More about the course

There are hundreds of diverse job roles available in the Hospitality and Catering Industry and this course could help you land your dream role in the kitchen! You will take part in weekly practical sessions using modern ingredient and technology, all in our very own state-of-the-art kitchens.

You will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts, with masterclasses, guest speakers and trips to suppliers!

You will develop culinary skills to an industry level and will have the opportunity to progress onto an Apprenticeship, employment, or Higher Education within the sector once you have successfully completed this course.

You will also develop skills across kitchen and Larder and Patisserie with an emphasis on the understanding of commodities used, current trends, the use of state-of-the-art technology to enhance food products as well as the use of advanced cooking and presentation techniques.

What can I do with a qualification in Hospitality

Daily tasks:

  • Makes cake decorations, spreads icing, fillings and toppings on products.
  • Bakes bread, pastry and cakes.
  • Fills and glazes pastry, mixes ingredients for cakes.
  • Rolls and cuts pastry, stretches, kneads and moulds dough to form bread, rolls and buns.
  • Mixes ingredients using hand or machine to obtain the required consistency.
  • Weighs ingredients according to recipe.
