On this practical course, you'll get hands-on experience that will help you to develop a great understanding of technical support in the workplace and gain the essential skills you need to get started in IT.
You will explore the IT industry and find out more about the opportunities available to you, while studying a range of topics from installing software to web development and computer graphics.
You will benefit from strong links to local digital employers including Accenture and Tombola and have the opportunity to gain work experience alongside your studies.

Work experience opportunities
You will have an opportunity to spend time with a digital employer or within an IT department. Students have recently completed work placements with companies including Tombola, Accenture, McDonalds, Nexus and Ignite.
English and Maths
Maths is essential in IT and will be embedded into your course through written communications and expression, the learning of technical language, the application of maths within coding and using formulae in spreadsheets and databases.
If you have not achieved GCSE grade 4 in either English or maths, you will be supported through dedicated lessons to achieve these qualifications.
Where can I progress?
On completion of this course you can progress onto a suitable Level 3 course in IT, games design or esports.
