New 24+ Advanced Learning Loan

If finances have been holding you back from starting a course, you can now apply for a loan to help with the cost of course fees!

From 1st August 2013, if you are aged 24 or over and want to study A Levels, an Access to Higher Education/HEFC Diploma, a Level 3 or 4 Certificate or Diploma, or an Advanced or Higher Apprenticeship, you will need to pay Newcastle College for the cost of your course.

A new loan scheme has been introduced by the government to help learners. The 24+ Advanced Learning Loan is easy to apply for, doesn’t take your household income into account and doesn’t involve a credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000 a year and it is also a great way to access courses that previously, for financial reasons, may have been out of your reach.

For full details on how to apply for the new Advanced Learning Loan and to check the eligibility criteria click here.

Please note if applying for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan you will need to have a copy of your entitlement letter from the Student Loans Company before we can complete your enrolment on your chosen course.
