We can help eligible students, aged over 19, and studying at Newcastle College with access support funds to help cover the costs of the following items:
Travel to and from college
Some exam and registration fees
How do I apply?
Travel cost contribution
If you are aged 19+ and joining Newcastle College from September 2020 you may be eligible for travel payments to help with the cost of travelling to the College.
This support is available to students who live more than 3 miles away from their campus, the travel support can be worth up to £6 per day if the student meets the eligibility criteria.
Free equipment and trips
If you are joining Newcastle College from September 2020 you may be eligible for FREE equipment and support towards the cost of trips.
Course leaders have identified items which may be useful to you whilst studying your course. Some courses may also have trips arranged designed to enhance your learning experience, you may have access to funding to enable you to attend these trips.
Free childcare support
If you are aged 20+ and joining Newcastle College from September 2020 you may be eligible for FREE childcare support.* Please download the 20+ 20+ Childcare Fund Application Form.
You may be able to receive childcare costs to cover your timetable, so that you are able to fully participate on your course. The childcare costs will be paid directly to the childcare provider. Please note, the childcare provider must have an Ofsted Report and be graded as ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’.
*If you are aged 16-19 and require childcare support, you are advised to apply for childcare support through the Care to Learn scheme.
