The Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation BSc will develop the knowledge and skills you will need to work as a sport and exercise rehabilitator. You will have the unique opportunity to work with a variety of clients and athletes from a range of backgrounds. You will undertake 400 hours of “hands on” experience within the sport and exercise rehabilitation sector, some of this will take place at external events (such as the Great North Run), university and college sports matches (in a pitch side support role) and also at Newcastle Falcons and Thunder where you have the opportunity to work with professional athletes.
In addition, you will also work within our own Sports Injury Clinic where you will develop your clinical skills and will learn how to rehabilitate and prevent injury. As part of our Work Ready Guarantee you will be provided with insurance throughout your studies to enable you to develop your practice. You will also be able to gain fitness instructor, personal trainer, massage, first aid and advanced trauma qualifications. As part of the course you will study a range of topics that will help you to prevent and treat injuries. You will be able to be involved in research focusing on your chosen field and will have the chance to participate in conferences.
