This course is aimed at providing you with the skills to work with families caring for people at the end of their life and is ideal if you want to enter employment in this specialised area.

Who the course is for

It is aimed at unemployed people who want to progress into employment. Many people who attend our courses have been unemployed for a significant length of time and need support to enter employment.
Our staff are very supportive and are aware of the barriers that you may face. You will be supported in every aspect of the course to help you succeed and gain a new qualification.

Course Content

Within the course the following is covered:

• How to work in end of life care.
• Understand how to provide support. manage pain and discomfort.
• End of life care and dementia.
• The role of the care worker in time of death.
• Understanding loss and grief in end of life care.

Learning Methods

You will learn through a variety of taught sessions combined with group and individual activities.

Assessment Methods

There are no exams. You will complete a workbook and be assessed through some practical activities.

Progression Opportunities

You can progress into employment or onto one of our other employability courses.

Career Opportunities

Working in the health sector with people at the end of life.

Entry Requirements

You do not need any qualifications to enroll to this course but you will need a basic level of spoken and written English.
