Apprenticeship Description

Basic Practical Skills – Ability to use hand tools and complete practical tasks safely and accurately.  

Manual Dexterity – Good hand-eye coordination for handling tools, materials, and equipment.  

Measurement and Maths Skills – Roofing involves measuring materials, calculating angles, and cutting materials accurately.  

Communication Skills – Important for listening to instructions, asking questions, and working with customers and colleagues.  

Organisation Skills – Keeping tools, materials, and work areas tidy helps jobs run safely and efficiently.  

Health and Safety Awareness – Understanding the importance of PPE, ladder safety, and safe working at heights.  

Ability to Follow Instructions – Apprentices need to carefully follow guidance from experienced roofers and supervisors.  

Customer Service Skills – Being polite and professional when working at customers’ homes or businesses.

Good Timekeeping – Roofing jobs often start early, and being punctual shows reliability and professionalism.
