About the Role

Site and Field Services Ltd is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Level 3 Machining Technician Apprentice to join our growing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about engineering, manufacturing, and precision machining and wants to build a long-term career in the industry.

As an apprentice, you will receive hands-on training from experienced engineers while working towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship. You will gain valuable experience across a range of machining and engineering activities, developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become a fully qualified Machining Technician.

What You'll Learn

During your apprenticeship, you will develop the skills to:

  • Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools and engineering equipment.
  • Manufacture precision components using both manual and CNC machining techniques.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions.
  • Select appropriate tools, materials and machining methods for engineering tasks.
  • Carry out inspection and measurement activities using precision measuring equipment.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with fault finding.
  • Work safely and effectively in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
  • Support the repair, refurbishment and manufacture of engineering components.
  • Understand quality control processes and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Contribute to engineering projects within the workshop and, where appropriate, on customer sites.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 3:00pm

Total: 39 hours per week

Apprenticeship Wage

£8.00 per hour

Applicants should:

  • Hold a Level 2 Engineering qualification.
  • Have a genuine interest in engineering and manufacturing.
  • Be practical, hands-on and enjoy problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Be reliable, punctual and committed to successfully completing the apprenticeship programme.
