About the Role

Looking to build a career in roofing and construction?

G Kelly Roofing Contractors Ltd is looking for a motivated and hardworking Level 2 Roofing Apprentice to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn a skilled trade while gaining valuable, hands-on experience and working towards a nationally recognised Level 2 Roofing qualification.

You will work alongside experienced roofing professionals across a variety of domestic, commercial, and new-build projects, developing practical skills in roof installation, repairs, maintenance, and safe working practices.

This apprenticeship is an ideal starting point for someone who is enthusiastic about construction, enjoys practical work, and is looking to build a long-term career within the roofing industry.

Key Responsibilities

As a Roofing Apprentice, you will:

• Assist experienced roofers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems.
• Learn to work with a range of roofing materials, including slate, tile, and flat roofing systems.
• Assist with roof inspections and learn to identify defects and areas requiring repair.
• Learn how to safely use roofing tools, equipment, and access systems.
• Assist with the installation of roof coverings, underlays, battens, flashings, and guttering systems.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, and fitting roofing materials.
• Learn to interpret drawings, specifications, and job instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Work safely at height and follow all company and industry health and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, site managers, and other trades.
• Represent G Kelly Roofing Contractors Ltd professionally at all times.
• Attend and fully participate in the required apprenticeship training and assessments.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday

Working hours will be confirmed and agreed in line with apprenticeship requirements and business needs.

Pay

In accordance with the current apprenticeship pay scheme.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• A genuine interest in roofing and the construction industry.
• A willingness to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
• Good practical skills and a hands-on approach.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• The ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Good timekeeping and reliability.
• Basic Maths and English skills.
• The ability to travel to different work sites as required.
• A strong commitment to completing the Level 2 Roofing Apprenticeship.

Previous roofing or construction experience is not essential as full training and support will be provided. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, willing to learn, and committed to developing a career in roofing.

Career Progression

Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a full-time position with G Kelly Roofing Contractors Ltd as a qualified roofer, subject to business requirements and performance.

There will also be opportunities for further training, development, and career progression within the wider construction industry.
