Job Title: Apprentice Bricklayer
Location: Hexham
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £8.00 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Apprentice Bricklayer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the construction industry while gaining a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
You will work alongside experienced plasterers, learning the skills and techniques required to become a qualified tradesperson. Full training and support will be provided throughout your apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified Bricklayer on domestic and commercial projects.
- Prepare walls, structures for Bricklaying.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Load and unload materials, tools and equipment.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Attend college or off-site training as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Complete coursework and practical assessments required for the apprenticeship.
- Develop knowledge of industry standards, building regulations and best practices.
Person Specification
Essential
- A genuine interest in construction and plastering.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Good timekeeping and reliability.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (or willingness to work towards these qualifications if required).
- Previous experience of construction (school, college or work experience) is advantageous but not essential.
