About the Role

Duffys Motors Ltd is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable Apprentice Mechanic to join our team and develop their skills within a busy and supportive garage environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a genuine interest in motor vehicles and wants to build a long-term career in the automotive industry. You will work alongside experienced mechanics, gaining practical hands-on experience while working towards your Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) qualification.

Key Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting experienced mechanics with routine vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Learning how to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Carrying out basic maintenance tasks, including oil and filter changes, tyre rotations and brake inspections.
• Learning to inspect vehicles and identify potential faults or safety issues.
• Using workshop tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised workshop.
• Following all health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Working as part of a team and communicating effectively with colleagues.
• Providing a professional and courteous service to customers.
• Developing your technical knowledge and practical skills throughout the apprenticeship.
• Taking responsibility for your own learning and progression.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about cars and keen to develop a career within the motor trade.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A genuine interest in motor vehicles and vehicle maintenance.
• A basic understanding of automotive systems and components.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to completing work accurately.
• Good problem-solving skills and an eagerness to understand how things work.
• The physical stamina required to work in a busy workshop environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good timekeeping, reliability and a strong work ethic.
• A commitment to completing the apprenticeship and developing into a qualified technician.

Previous garage or mechanical experience is desirable but not essential. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
