    Apprenticeship Description

    About the employer:

    We are a commercial vehicle bodybuilder based in Dunston, Gateshead. We fabricate box vans, lutons, curtain siders, tippers, dropsiders from base steel and alloy material. The bespoke nature & variation of our work means apprentices gain great knowledge & experience in both fabrication & welding. We have a long history with Newcastle college & a track record of producing highly skilled engineers post apprenticeship.

    What you will be doing:

    Working full time mainly shadowing one experienced employee assisting with their vehicle builds. This will lead onto their own repairs before moving onto their own body builds.

    Working week:

    Mon – Thurs 08:00 – 16:30

    Fri 08:00 – 13:00

    Skills required:

    • Fabrication skills

    • Able to read a tape measure

    • Problem solving skills

    • Happy to work with others

     

    Future Prospects

    It is our aim to offer any apprentice who has shown a good grasp of the skills taught, and has shown the correct temperament a full time role with company upon completion of their apprenticeship.
