About the Role
Prosper Learning Trust is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our small and supportive central finance team in an interesting and varied apprenticeship role.
The successful candidate will support the Trust’s finance function with day-to-day financial and administrative tasks while studying towards an AAT Level 2 qualification. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in finance and gain valuable practical experience within a thriving educational trust.
This apprenticeship also offers the opportunity for progression onto a Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship upon successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day financial transaction processing using the Trust’s accounting software under the direction of the Finance Manager
- Support purchase ledger processes including sourcing suppliers, checking requisitions, raising purchase orders and placing orders with suppliers
- Process supplier invoices for payment, ensuring all goods and services have been received
- Liaise with internal colleagues and external suppliers regarding purchase orders and invoices
- Support the wider finance team with general administrative duties as required
Person Specification
The successful candidate will:
- Have a keen interest in finance and accounting
- Possess strong organisational skills
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Have knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Be willing to learn and work as part of a collaborative team
Apprenticeship Details
- Qualification: AAT Level 2 Apprenticeship
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Training: Includes one day per week at Newcastle College
- Salary: £8.00 per hour (Apprentice rate – first year)
- Contract Type: Full Time
