Newcastle College has partnered with Newcastle City Council this festive season to support their 'Best Christmas Ever' campaign, in support of care-experienced young people in the city.
Colleagues at the College are donating gifts and Christmas essentials to collection points across campus, while students are getting involved in wrapping presents and even DJing at the care-experienced young people’s Christmas party, which will be hosted at Newcastle Civic Centre in December.
Assistant Principal Catherine Orridge said: “We know that lots of people are affected by the current cost-of-living crisis which can make Christmas a difficult time for many, but particularly care-experienced young people and other children in need. We want to help young people in Newcastle to wake up to a wrapped gift on Christmas morning and be able to take part in festive activities in December.”
The Council has also created an Amazon Wishlist for Care Leavers here which anyone can donate to. If you would like to donate a gift, please select the Care Leavers Team address for delivery which will show as VI Christmas Collection on checkout.
