Four Newcastle College students and a tutor have been recognised for their achievements at the annual HITZ Graduation 2025.
Hosted by Newcastle Rugby Foundation at Kingston Park Stadium on Thursday May 22, and attended by Newcastle Falcons players and staff, the event was a powerful celebration of the resilience, growth and achievements of young people taking part in the Foundation’s HITZ programme, delivered in partnership with Newcastle College.
HITZ is the Foundation’s flagship enrichment and support programme, designed to help young people at risk of social isolation or disengagement from education. Many HITZ learners have faced significant personal and academic challenges and the programme provides a fresh pathway to develop life skills, gain qualifications and build confidence for the future.
The graduation ceremony brought together students, families, staff and supporters to reflect on a transformative year. From re-engaging with education to preparing for employment or further training, the journey these young people have taken is nothing short of inspiring.
The HITZ programme is a shining example of how rugby can change lives, offering opportunity, support and a sense of belonging to those who need it most. We’re excited to see what the future holds for this inspiring group of young people.
Newcastle College proudly works in partnership with Newcastle Rugby Foundation to provide life-changing opportunities for students. Through collaborative programmes CAST, HITZ, and Futures, the partnership uses the power of sport to build confidence, develop essential life skills, and open doors to brighter futures.
