Students and staff at Newcastle College and Newcastle College University Centre are taking part in a local leadership programme with the aim of making the city a greener place to live, work and study.

Newcastle150, the leadership programme from Common Purpose, is bringing together people aged 18-25 from across the city to create a community of young leaders who care about making change happen in Newcastle.

Focusing on the future of Newcastle, the project is centred around gathering ideas from local people on how they can act together to transform the city into a cleaner, greener place for all.

The programme will take place online in April and eligible students and staff have until 18 February to apply to take part.
