Chefs and front-of-house staff from award-winning South Shields seafood restaurant Colmans Seafood Temple recently took over the Chefs’ Academy at Newcastle College.

Head Chef Kerry Boreman and former Newcastle College student Alan Howard were among the staff working with students to prepare and serve up a six-course tasting menu of Colmans’ best-selling dishes to diners.

Kerry said “It was a privilege for us to come and take over the Chefs’ Academy. It’s given the students a fantastic opportunity to not only test out their skills, but to gain valuable links into the industry as well. It also gave us a chance to see the talent of the future and to showcase what we’re all about at Colmans, which is high quality, fresh, local seafood.”

The event sold out within 15 minutes of going live on the website and was very popular with the guests.
