Ideal if you are looking to learn basic welding skills this part-time course will develop your practical metal inert gas welding techniques. You’ll learn in our state-of-the-art Energy Academy where you’ll have access to the latest MIG welding technology under the direction of our industry experienced tutors.

 Whilst on the course you will:
• produce beads and weld joints on metal plates.
• be able to check joints are aligned and welds are sound and of uniform appearance.
• identify defects in weld using visual checks.
• learn about health and safety aspects of welding, tools and equipment.

Who the course is for

Ideal for those who are new to welding, looking to enhance or increase their welding skills and knowledge, allowing you to work in a diverse number of situations.

Qualification Gained

On successful completion of this course you will gain a City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Introductory MIG Welding.
