Summer Enrolment 2026

Yes, you can still apply for a full-time course starting in September, however we are no longer processing online applications. Once we receive your application, we'll invite you to our drop-in enrolment event in August and send you all the details.

If you have not yet applied, you can submit an application at any time, but you will not be able to enrol until you have received your GCSE results. You will be invited to attend our drop-in enrolment event from Wednesday 26 August to Friday 28 August. Please check above for the opening times.

If you're not sure about which course you want to study, please still attend your Enrolment Event and you’ll be able to speak to our tutors on the day if you would like to talk about your course choice.

When you visit us at your Enrolment Event, you will be greeted by your tutor who will explain the next steps. 

This includes: 

• Checking your GCSE and English and maths results
• Receiving your timetable
• Getting your details of your First Day of College in September
• Signing your Learner Agreement
• Getting your ID badge, keycard and lanyard and becoming an official Newcastle College student!

Enrolment will take place in person on our main Rye Hill campus in Newcastle upon Tyne, just off Scotswood Road.

This is where you will sign your Learner Agreement and receive your ID badge, keycard and lanyard.

We aim to make the enrolment process as smooth and efficient as possible. However, please be aware that it may take some time to complete, as the College is legally required to collect accurate information to support your transition into college life. To help things run smoothly, please allow yourself approximately two hours to complete your enrolment.

There’s no need to bring a parent or guardian with you, so please come alone to your Enrolment Event.

If you are 16-18 and have applied and accepted your course offer before Friday 19 June, you will be sent an invitation to come to campus to complete your enrolment for a specific date and time.

If you are aged 16-18 and have applied after Friday 19 June, or have not made an application to study at Newcastle College, you can visit us on campus at the below dates and times to discuss your options:

• Wednesday 26 August: 9am - 4pm
• Thursday 27 August: 9am - 6pm
• Friday 28 August: 9am - 12pm

If you are aged 19+, you can visit us on campus on the below dates and times:

• Monday 17 August:10am – 4pm
• Tuesday 18 August: 11am – 6pm
• Wednesday 19 August: 10am – 4pm

It is very important that you attend your Enrolment Event on the date and time given.

If you have extenuating circumstances and are unable to attend your Enrolment Event, please get in touch with us as soon as possible so that we can secure your place.

If you are unable to attend your Enrolment Event and don’t contact us, we will not be able to guarantee your place.

If you do not achieve your grades as expected, please still attend your Enrolment Event and the curriculum team will work with you to find a suitable alternative course.

When you come to campus to complete your enrolment, please remember to bring with you:

• Your GCSE or Foundation Learning results or proof of qualifications
• A suitable current form of ID
  • One of the following will be accepted: birth certificate, passport, driver's or provisional licence or photographic student ID for returning students
• Your National Insurance number (if known)
• If you are aged 19+, you will need to provide the means to pay for your course or proof of evidence to waive fees (for example, a current benefits letter or an Adult Learner Loan application if your are studying a Level 3 course). 

Without these documents, we won't be able to fully enrol you onto your chosen course.

If you are an International student, please also bring along your proof of residency in the UK. For example:

• EU settlement scheme paperwork
• Immigration documents
• Your visa
• Your residence permit.

We are required to take your photograph for your student ID badge when you enrol. This will be taken during the enrolment process. 

Yes! Our tutors will be on campus throughout enrolment to answer your questions, so if you have any concerns or queries about your course you will be able to speak to them during enrolment.

Yes! If you have additional support needs and haven’t yet met with anyone from our Central Support Service, please make an appointment by visiting the team at the main Library on our Rye Hill campus during summer enrolment opening hours (10am-4pm).

If you need help accessing support or guidance completing your enrolment, please let us know when you arrive for your Enrolment Event.

You should have already been given information about re-enrolling onto your course for September. If you’re unsure, please get in touch with your tutor.

You will be receiving your timetable for September as part of your Enrolment Event in the summer.

You’ll receive your ID badge and lanyard at enrolment once you have completed all the required steps at your Enrolment Event.

As part of your Enrolment Event, you will be given information on any equipment and uniform you will need for your course. If you have any questions, please speak to your tutor on the day.

Car parking is available on site, but spaces are not guaranteed.

Please allow sufficient travel time and familiarise yourself with the journey before coming to campus. Find out more about how to get to campus here.

Your first few weeks will be spent completing your induction, meeting your tutor and classmates and familiarising yourself with the campus. You'll also find out all of the important stuff you need to know, including all of the support that you can access and what to expect from your time at college.
