Course Leader - Engineering"As well as my day to day teaching activities I work with our students encouraging them to take part in Equality and Diversity competitions, Young Engineer for Britain, Greenpower Electric Car competition, Jaguar F1 in Schools, where I have represented the college on many occasions in regional finals with our students. You may You may also recognise me from Robot Wars Techno-games where I competed for a number of years with my robot FireStorm."

Dan Lumb
Lecturer - Music"Music is one of the few subject areas which can go from being ridiculously technical, so for example the inner workings of a compressor, learning jazz theory from the 20th century, to being the most emotive and connective expression of the human experience, creating whole subcultures based around specific genres. Being able to see students go from the very beginnings of their musical career to writing and producing complex music at industry standard, then releasing and distributing that music successfully is definitely what I love most about my job."

One day work was called off due to weather and I heard an advert on the radio for trades people to go into teaching! Just knowing I can pass on my knowledge to the younger generation makes me feel good. I like to see how students mature as a person from when they join us to getting their first job in the trade."

I am passionate about customer service and ethical management techniques and always keep up to date with developments within Retail and Hospitality. Keeping abreast of what is happening in industry is key to making my lessons relevant. I love to see our students succeed, it’s the reason I teach! I am always very proud of our students."
