Level 3 Apprentice Mechanic – Newcastle Garage Services

As part of our continued commitment to developing new talent, we're looking for a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Mechanic to join our team and start an exciting career in the automotive industry.

As an apprentice, you will gain real-world experience, develop key mechanical skills, and work alongside experienced mechanics in a supportive garage environment.

Your Role as an Apprentice Mechanic:

As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will work closely with our skilled technicians and learn to:

  • Assist in performing routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles

  • Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults using modern diagnostic tools and equipment

  • Carry out basic mechanical tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections

  • Prepare and maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

  • Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe workspace

  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers to support smooth operations

Working Hours & Pay:

  • Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Pay Rate: £7.55 per hour (first-year apprentice rate)

What We’re Looking For:

Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to acquire new skills and knowledge

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks accurately and thoroughly

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform hands-on, physically demanding tasks

  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with others

Desirable:

  • Technical Aptitude: A basic understanding of automotive systems and components
