Apprenticeship Description

As part of our commitment to nurturing new talent, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Mechanic to join our growing team and build a rewarding career in the automotive repair industry.

As an apprentice, you will gain real-world experience, receive hands-on training, and work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Your Role as an Apprentice Mechanic:

As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will work closely with our skilled team to:

  • Assist in performing routine maintenance and repair work on a variety of vehicles

  • Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using modern diagnostic tools and equipment

  • Perform basic mechanical tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure safe operations at all times

  • Communicate effectively with both team members and customers to support a smooth-running garage

Working Hours & Pay:

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • Pay Rate: £7.55 per hour (first-year apprentice rate)

What We’re Looking For:

Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) is preferred. Ideally, candidates will already be part way through an automotive course.

Essential:

  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of automotive systems and components

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks accurately and thoroughly

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues

  • Physical Stamina: Comfortable with physically demanding tasks and working in varied conditions

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to develop new skills and grow within the role

  • Reliability: Punctuality and a strong commitment to the apprenticeship

  • Successful apprentice may progress to full-time permanent employment upon completion of the apprenticeship
