Apprenticeship Description

About Us

UK Lift & Escalator is a family-run national contractor specialising in the maintenance, repair, installation, and modernisation of lifts and escalators across the UK. Led by our CEO and his two sons, we take pride in our friendly, down-to-earth culture and supportive working environment.

We are growing rapidly across the UK, and this is an exciting opportunity to join us during a key stage in our business expansion. You’ll be part of a close-knit, approachable team that values hard work, positivity, and teamwork — where everyone’s contribution truly makes a difference.

The Role

We are offering a Level 2 Accounts and Finance Assistant Apprenticeship to support the day-to-day operations of our Finance Manager. This hands-on role will give you valuable experience across a range of financial and administrative processes, helping you develop strong practical skills while learning about how finance supports business growth.

You’ll gain real-world experience working within a busy finance department, supporting both the sales and purchase ledger functions and assisting with general financial administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with sales ledger tasks, including preparing, raising, and sending customer invoices.

  • Support the purchase ledger process by checking, matching, and entering supplier invoices.

  • Help with credit control, following up on outstanding payments in a polite and professional manner.

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) as requested.

  • Provide general administrative and finance support to the Finance Manager and wider team.

  • Learn and apply the principles of good financial practice within a fast-growing business.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone positive, friendly, and eager to learn — someone who enjoys being part of a team and wants to grow their career in finance.

Key Attributes:

  • Willing to learn: You have a growth mindset and are keen to develop new skills.

  • Hard-working: You show commitment and reliability in everything you do.

  • Team player: You communicate well, support others, and enjoy working collaboratively.

  • Adaptable: You thrive in a busy environment and can prioritise effectively.

  • Financial awareness: You understand the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in finance.

What You’ll Gain

  • A Level 2 Finance Apprenticeship qualification while earning and gaining real experience.

  • Practical training in sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, and financial administration.

  • Mentorship and day-to-day support from an experienced Finance Manager.

  • The opportunity to grow with a family business that values its people and aims to retain apprentices as long-term team members.

Future Opportunities

Our goal is to retain successful apprentices in permanent positions as Finance Assistants, supporting continued career development within the company.
