Job Type: Full-Time Apprenticeship
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:15pm
Pay: Apprenticeship Minimum Wage

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Metal Fabricator to join our North East team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification. You will develop practical skills and learn a wide range of fabrication techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the fabrication and assembly of metal components and structures
  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Operate a variety of tools and machinery (under supervision), including cutting, welding, and forming equipment
  • Support senior fabricators with day-to-day workshop tasks
  • Develop basic welding skills (MIG, TIG, and/or MMA) as training progresses
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies
  • Attend college and participate in training as part of the apprenticeship programme

Skills & Qualities

  • Strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, or construction
  • Willingness to learn and develop practical skills
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Basic understanding of maths and measurements
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above preferred)
  • No prior experience required; however, any workshop or practical experience is advantageous

Career Progression
