Employment Type: Full-Time Apprenticeship
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 5:15pm

Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Machining Technician to join our North East team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification in machining and engineering.
You will learn to operate advanced machinery and develop precision engineering skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and operation of CNC and manual machining equipment
- Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CAD data
- Support the production of precision components using milling, turning, and drilling processes
- Work with a variety of materials, including metals and alloys
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and tooling changes as training progresses
- Use measuring equipment (e.g. calipers, micrometers) to ensure accuracy and quality
- Support senior machinists with day-to-day workshop activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and attend college as part of the apprenticeship programme
Skills & Qualities Required
- Strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, or machining
- Willingness to learn and develop technical and practical skills
- Good attention to detail and commitment to precision
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Basic understanding of maths and measurements
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills
Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above preferred)
- No prior experience required; however, any exposure to engineering or workshop environments is advantageous

Career Progression
