An iconic iPhone rig shot from Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later was shared recently on social media, but did you know the 'infected' is a student from Newcastle College's Performance Academy?
BA (Hons) Acting student Euan Bell successfully auditioned for a role as one of the infected, earning significant screen time and appearing in the iconic shot that has been making waves on social media.
Level 3 Acting student Jess Bell was also selected for a role; earning a place as the picture double for lead actor Alfie Williams - a casting decision kept secret until filming wrapped.
Jess said: "Working on the set of 28 Years Later was such a surreal experience and genuinely the best couple of months in my life. Being able to see the ins and outs of how movie sets work at such a close distance was magical. I am so beyond grateful for the opportunity, I got to meet so many outstanding actors including Jodi Comer, Jack O'Connell, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Chi Lewis Parry, Ralph Fiennes and of course Alfie Williams who is the actor that I was doubling for."
You can see Jess on set with leading actress Jodi Comer in the image below and catch both of our talented students on the big screen in cinemas now!
