We spoke to the Service Operations Manager at Aggreko Washington, Andrew Purvis, about how his company has benefitted from their partnership with Newcastle College.

Could you tell us about your company?

Why did you choose to hire apprentices through Newcastle College?

Whilst looking at surrounding colleges to support our Machining and Operations Engineering Technician apprentices, Newcastle College offered the correct apprenticeship qualification and was ideally located to assist our apprentices, as well as having a strong reputation for academic and professional excellence in the region.

How have your apprentices from Newcastle College benefitted your business?

We currently have one apprentice on programme with Newcastle College. Since she started studying at Newcastle College, our apprentice has absolutely shone! Her academic work is of the highest standard and she incorporates the values and hard work expected of Aggreko employees during her time in the depot.
