We offer a wide range of courses for those aged over 19 from introductory courses for beginners to advanced and higher education courses for those with prior knowledge and qualifications.
Employability courses
Our employability courses are a beginners level qualification designed to give you the confidence to return to work and develop the skills you need to stand out in the job market. Employability courses are free if you receive jobseekers allowance, employment support allowance or inactive benefits.

Vocational courses
Diplomas, BTECs and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are designed to help you learn in a practical way about a specific job area.
They can help you get the skills you need to start a job, progress in a career or go on to higher levels of education. Teaching is through project work and taught by tutors with industry experience.
Access to HE
An HE Access course or HEFC is ideal for mature learners who have been away from education for a while and need the qualifications to meet the entry requirements for higher education.
On successful completion of your access course or HEFC you may want to study for a Foundation Degree or Honours Degree at Newcastle College or apply to a different university - when you get the grades you always wanted, the options for your future are endless.
