IT (Games Development) case study

Shazreen Shaharuddin case study - Level 3 Diploma IT (Games Development)

“Before I moved to England, I was studying in my home country Malaysia. At 12 years old I moved to Newcastle and I have been living here ever since. I joined Excelsior Academy and after my GCSEs I applied to Newcastle College to do the Level 2 Diploma in IT, which I enjoyed, so I progressed onto the Level 3 Diploma in Games Development.

I have been welcomed with open arms, by both my tutors and classmates, throughout my time at the College. My course has been really interesting as I’ve learnt about all the different elements of developing a game, and I’ve learnt how to use the same software that’s used in the games industry, so I’m gaining the key skills needed to get a career in designing computer games.

I believe that studying at Newcastle College was the best choice I made as the tutors were really helpful, there is a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and I made some great friends. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and when I finish my course, I’m going to university to do a degree in games development.”
