Didn't get the GCSE results you'd hoped for?

Didn’t get the GCSE results you hoped for?

Firstly, don’t panic! Not getting the results you hoped for can seem like the end of the world, but it really isn’t! There are plenty of options for you, read our handy guide below to give you an idea of what you can do next.

Remark or re-sit
If you didn’t achieve the marks you had hoped for in one or more of your exams, you can always get your papers remarked. You have to pay a fee for this service and will only receive a refund if the mark is changed. You can also plan to re-sit your exams, depending on your circumstances, you may be able to do so right away or have to wait up to 18 months. You might have to pay to retake your exams. Speak to your school directly if you wish to do either of these options as they will be able to advise you on the next steps.

Access to further education
Access to further education courses give you the chance to learn new skills in your chosen subject but also improve your English and Maths skills to help you go onto further study. There are no formal entry requirements to get onto these courses; you’ll just need an interview and assessment with a friendly member of the teaching team. Contact our Access to Further Education team today to find out your options.
