Important Update

The Prime Minister has announced a national lockdown will come into effect at 00.01 on Thursday 5 November for a four week period until Wednesday 2 December.

The announcement confirmed that schools, colleges and universities should remain open, so we want to reassure you that Newcastle College will remain open in line with government advice. We will continue to follow all of the safety processes and measures that we have in place to keep students and colleagues safe while on campus.

Students should continue to attend college following their usual timetable and follow all of the safety measures we have in place.

Please note that campus will remain open only for students and colleagues. The Retreat and The Chefs' Academy will not be open for public bookings during the lockdown period and will be open as part of essential curriculum activity only. If you have a booking you will be contacted directly to cancel or rearrange.

If you, or someone in your household or bubble experiences symptoms, you should not attend campus.

If you develop symptoms you should self-isolate for 10 days before returning to campus and get tested wherever possible. You should not come onto campus until you receive a negative test result or your isolation period has finished.

If someone within your household or support bubble develops symptoms, you should self-isolate for 14 days from the onset of their symptoms or wait for them to receive a negative test result before returning to campus.

Full guidance on this is available on the NHS website at

Please remember to play your part in keeping yourselves and others safe by continuing to follow all of the safety measures we have put in place on campus, including wearing a face covering inside buildings and maintaining a safe distance from others at all times.
