This broad-based one-year course encourages you to explore your skills and interests so that you can make the right choice for your Higher Education and career. It is very practical and offers superb opportunities for experimenting with a wide range of digital techniques, developing your individuality, initiative and confidence. It enables you to progress to Higher Education with a stronger technical ability and understanding as well as with the more self-reliant and disciplined approach to study required at Foundation Degree and Degree level.

Who the course is for

• Students aged 19+ and over who intend to progress to Higher Education to study an aspect of Digital Art and Design within the Creative Industries. You will have the opportunity to experience all areas before selecting one as your specialist area of study: Animation, Media Production, Graphic Design and Illustration,  Design, Digital Arts and Photography,

Qualification Gained

You will gain a qualification accredited via One Awards.

You will put together a portfolio of digital work, evidencing the units of the qualification, which is internally assessed and externally moderated as the course progresses.

Progression Opportunities

You could continue your studies by progressing to a Foundation Degree or Degree in Digital Design subject areas.

Previous students from this course have progressed to careers in a wide range of creative sectors.

Entry Requirements

Ideally GCSE’s in both English and maths at C or above.

We will consider applicants with 1 GCSE – but you will have to study the other GCSE alongside the main programme.
