Are you wired for success? Do you enjoy learning in a practical environment? This course is designed to prepare you for the construction industry working as an electrician.
You will study wiring and terminals, fabrication techniques, electrical science and technology. You will be taught by tutors who have years of experience working for national companies such as Northern Electricity Board and as self-employed electrical installers.
By studying this course you will have the chance to showcase your skills and compete in Skill Build and inter college competitions.
You will also have the opportunity to gain your CSCS card which allows you to work on a building site.
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and maths.
What will I achieve?
On successful completion you will receive a City & Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation.

Work experience opportunities
Students studying electrical installation benefit from 25 hours spent on a work placement to develop their professional skills.
English and Maths
Electricians rely on English and maths within their job roles and both subjects will be embedded into your programme, through recording and measuring room dimensions, wiring lengths, converting watts to kilowatts and calculating loads.

Once you have successfully completed this course you can progress onto Electrical Installation - Level 3.
