Do you have an interest in the construction industry? Are you keen to learn the craft of bricklaying? This Bricklaying course will help you to develop the skills, knowledge and experience you need to succeed as a bricklayer.
This hands-on course offers the opportunity to learn a variety of skills to help build, repair and maintain the country's housing stock. Guest speakers from industry are an important part of this course and companies such as Robinsons, Keep Moat, Barrett Homes and Surgo share industry knowledge and best practice with our students.
You will have the chance to gain your CSCS card which allows you to work on a building site, and showcase your skills in inter-college competitions and SkillBuild.
- GCSE at grade 2 in English and maths
- Functional Skills Level 1 in English and maths
Before starting the course, you will meet the teaching team and take a basic test to ensure the course is right for you.

On successful completion of this course you will receive a Level 1 City & Guilds Diploma in Bricklaying.

English and Maths
Bricklayers need core English and maths skills to be able to provide estimates, mix ratios of materials and take measurements.
If you do not hold English and/or maths GCSE at grade 4 or above you will be supported with dedicated lessons to help you achieve English and maths qualifications.
Where can I progress?
You can progress onto the Level 2 in Bricklaying or another construction course at Level 1 when you successfully complete this course.
Professionally you can progress onto an apprenticeship in bricklaying on successful completion of this course.
