The BSc (Hons) Public Health (Top-Up), which is the only Public Health Top-Up degree in the region, will give you critical theoretical knowledge in the current issues affecting the health sector in a UK and global context.
This health degree has been validated by employers to give you a core base of essential understanding of the health system. You will be taught by qualified nurses and work on live briefs and campaigns, giving you a broader understanding of Public Health in the working world. This degree is an ideal progression route for those who want to study a health-related Masters programme or for those wanting to pursue a career in women's health, school or district nursing or would like to work for a Local Authority or Public Health England.
A Foundation degree in Health and Social Care.
If you are a current Newcastle College University Centre student and successfully pass your Level 5 course in an appropriate subject, you will be guaranteed a place on a Top-Up degree course.

On the BSc (Hons) Public Health (Top-Up) degree you will receive guest lectures from local employers, charities and professionals who work in the sector and have a first-hand understanding of modern Public Health. You can also gain experience from a two week placement in the NHS (Public Health), giving you the skills and industry insight enabling you to be ready for work.
Where can I progress?
After completing this health degree, you can progress to a Masters level qualification such as MSc Public Health, MSc Health Promotion and MSc Sexual Health and related specialities. You can also pursue a career with organisations such as Public Health England, the NHS and a variety of health-focused non-profits.
