Overview

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19+. This qualification aims to develop and enhance skills required for the working environment and improve learners’ confidence and communication skills in order to prepare them for employment or for a change in employment.

4 week programme supporting unemployed adults to gain the necessary skills to look for and gain employment.  Includes various employability and IT skills.

NCFE Certificate in Employability Skills.

Assessment Methods

A range of assessment methods will be used throughout this programme such as:

Workbook tasks
Oral/Written questioning
Simulated activity
Observation
Witness testimonies

Progression Opportunities

Upon completion of this programme learners can progress onto study an IT qualification, a vocational studies programme or can progress to a level 2 qualification.

Career Opportunities

Learners can progression into employment in a range of areas.

You must be 19+, unemployed, on a benefit and looking for work.

Your job coach at the Job Centre can refer you for this course at Riverside Dene (Newcastle College in Cruddas Park shopping centre) or at Denton Burn Library or you can contact our office on 0191 226 6330 to arrange to speak to a member of the Employability Team.
